Dr. Brett Stone, Ph.D.

Senior Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Brett Stone is a Licensed Psychologist at Pinellas Psychology Associates. She works with children, teens, and adults, with a focus on anxiety, OCD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), emotional regulation, and challenges related to parenting and family dynamics.

Dr. Stone brings over 12 years of clinical experience and has a strong background in working with neurodiverse individuals and families. She completed her doctoral training at the University of South Florida, where she developed a focus on supporting families raising children with special needs. This continues to inform her work, particularly in areas related to parent coaching, emotional regulation, and navigating complex developmental and behavioral needs.

Her approach is practical, structured, and solutions-focused, while also creating space for deeper emotional exploration when clients are looking to better understand themselves and the patterns shaping their lives and relationships. She helps clients recognize patterns related to trust, self-worth, boundaries, perfectionism, avoidance, and self-sabotage, including protective strategies that may have once served an important purpose but are no longer helpful. Through a compassionate and collaborative process, she helps clients develop insight into these patterns while translating that insight into meaningful, actionable change.

Dr. Stone integrates evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and attachment-based approaches. She also incorporates mindfulness and self-regulation strategies and works within each client’s individual values and worldview, including spiritual, religious, secular, or other sources of meaning when they are important to the client.

Dr. Stone's combination of practical skill-building and deeper emotional work can be especially valuable for neurodiverse, anxious, and gifted individuals who want to better understand how they experience and interact with the world, as well as the patterns they have developed over time. She helps clients distinguish between aspects of themselves that authentically reflect who they are and patterns they may have developed to cope, protect themselves, or navigate relationships and expectations.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Stone serves as a Clinical Supervisor within the practice. She is actively involved in the supervision of doctoral trainees and psychological assessment services, supporting the development of clinicians and maintaining high standards of care across the team. She is also authorized to provide telehealth services across multiple states through PSYPACT.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Stone enjoys spending time with her family, being active outdoors, and exploring new interests.
