Dena McKenna, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Dena McKenna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. She supports clients who are navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and challenges related to identity, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Many of the individuals Dena works with are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Her approach focuses on helping clients slow down, gain a clearer understanding of what is contributing to these patterns, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.
Dena brings extensive experience across both clinical and school-based settings. She began her career in hospice care, where she developed a strong foundation in presence, perspective, and human connection. She later spent over a decade as a school social worker, where she created and led a therapeutic program for students whose mental health needs made traditional school environments difficult. This program expanded across multiple sites and continues to inform her work today.
Her therapeutic style is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in meeting clients where they are. She integrates evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and solution-focused strategies, while also creating a space that feels genuine, supportive, and approachable.
Outside of her clinical work, Dena enjoys spending time with her family and being active in the community.
