• Dr. Brett Stone, Ph.D.

Hello, I’m Dr. Brett Stone. I am a licensed psychologist and I am passionate about helping individuals lead lives they find fulfilling. I received my doctorate training at the University of South Florida. I am a strong advocate for problem-solving techniques, self-regulation and self-efficacy. I take an affirmative neurodiverse approach to my work, where I apply concepts from solutions-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure-response prevention therapy (ERP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and attachment theory. I enjoy teaching mindfulness techniques and self- hypnosis as an added coping tool. When my clients like more direct teaching, I love a good handout and I am always ready to share my favorite book recommendations!

I have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens and adult clients. As a therapist, I am a good fit for those individuals who are looking to feel better by balancing all the complexities that comes with life. Some niche specialties of mine, include:

    • Parent coaching, using conscious/gentle parenting and attachment theory
    • Navigating parenting raising children with low incidence disabilities-I specialized my psychology doctorate studies in working with families raising children with special needs
    • Boundary setting & helping “people pleasers”
    • Anxiety disorders and OCD therapy
    • ADHD solutions-based therapy and emotional regulation
    • Anxiety in neurodiverse individuals

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and dog, gardening, playing tennis, basketball and practicing yoga. I love the little details of life. I’m a homebody who enjoys reading, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and mindful drawing. I usually get really into something new for a period, recently I am into chess and ukelele.
