Kalena Crosby, M.A.

Kalena works with individuals who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and patterns that may be getting in the way. She has a particular interest in relationship difficulties, interpersonal trauma, attachment, perfectionism, and questions of identity and self-understanding. Many of her clients know they want things to feel different but aren’t quite sure how to get there.

Early relationships can shape how we see ourselves, what we expect from others, and even what feels “normal” in our relationships. Kalena is especially interested in helping clients understand these connections. She works with people who grew up in narcissistic family systems or high-control environments, as well as those who have experienced controlling or unhealthy relationships. This might look like constantly questioning yourself, struggling to trust others or set boundaries, holding yourself to impossible standards, or living with a persistent sense of not being enough.

Her style is warm, relational, and collaborative. Kalena draws primarily from interpersonal process therapy, which uses the therapy relationship as a place to notice and shift patterns, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which helps clients move toward what matters to them even when difficult thoughts or feelings show up. She believes trust takes time and works at a pace that allows clients to feel comfortable talking openly.

Kalena brings experience from a variety of settings, including hospitals, memory care, schools, and juvenile detention centers. These experiences have given her a broad understanding of how emotional and physical health can affect one another. She holds a master’s degree in psychology and continues to build on that experience through advanced doctoral training in clinical psychology.

Outside of her clinical work, Kalena grew up in Utah and spends as much time outdoors as she can. She enjoys hiking and running, teaches Pilates, and loves going to stand-up comedy shows.
